Founded in 1984 by Valerie Jackson, Principal, and Peter Jackson and supported by dedicated professional staff, Stage 84 is now the leading school of Performing Arts in the North of England.
Planned training in all aspects of performing arts from 3 years upwards by qualified caring staff.
Pupils coached for speech and drama examinations with the Trinity Guildhall Board, singing examinations with the Associated Board and dance examinations with the I.D.T.A.
Students prepare for film, television, theatre, radio work and drama festivals.

Thousands of our students have appeared
in films, on television and in professional shows.
Stage 84 were finalists in the Barclays National Music
Theatre Awards in London in 1991, 1993 and 1994. In 1991
they received the Judges Special Award for 'The Most Outstanding
Musical Ensemble' and 'The Most Outstanding Individual
Performance' for their own musical 'Ellis'. |

In 1993 they were awarded 'The Most Outstanding Dramatic Performance'.
'The Most Outstanding Choreographic Performance' and 'The Most
Outstanding Individual Performance' for 'Joseph and His Amazing
Technicolour Dreamcoat'. In 1994 they were awarded 'The Most
Outstanding Choreographic Performance' and 'The Most Outstanding
Individual Performance' for '42nd Street' |
At the 75th Anniversary of British
Festivals Finals at Warwick University in July 1996, out of one
million competitors one of Stage 84's students was awarded a prestigious
gold medal for his outstanding performance. He was invited to perform
before Royalty in London in September 1996.
In 1997 Stage 84 presented a
Pageant depicting the last 100 years of the history of Bradford
for Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh
at Bradford City AFC. The pageant was also presented for Bradford
Centenary Celebration in Centenary Square, Bradford.
We have performed at the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival every year since 1990.
We represented the city of Bradford
at the Millennium Dome in 2000 with a presentation of 'Our Town
Story'.
In 2001 we were selected for
the final of the BBC Choir of the Year.
In 2002 we presented 'Guys and
Dolls' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Annie at the Alhambra
Theatre Bradford.
In 2003 we presented Carousel
at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Stage 84 Spectacular at the
Alhambra Theatre Bradford.
In 2004 we presented The King and I at Bingley Arts Centre and the
James Gillespies High School Theatre, Edinburgh.
In 2004 we presented
the amateur premiere of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Alhambra Theatre
Bradford.

In 2004 we were selected to appear in the Shell
Connections, we performed a new play entitled 'The Musicians' and
were invited to present it at the York Theatre Royal in March to
a capacity audience. The play was assessed by a representative from
the National Theatre in London whose comments included 'the quality
of the concentration in the silent opening was gripping' 'highly
effective group choreography' and 'the mimed interpretation was
brilliant'.
In 2004 our younger pupils and students played the
parts of all the Bronte children in the acclaimed BBC production
'In Search of the Brontes'
2004 was also our 20th Anniversary and we marked
it with a weekend of celebrations.
2005 we presented West Side Story at Bingley Art Centre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And Stage 84 "Spectacular" at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford
2006 we presented Jesus Christ Superstar at Bingley Arts Centre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Wizard of Oz at the Alhambra Theatre Bradford and in Hamm (Germany)


2007 is Oliver at the Alhambra Theatre Bradford.
